A look at the political & social battle over the largest community garden in the U.S (located in south central LA). An Oscar nominee, it shows how the politics of power & greed tragically intersect with working class families who rely on this garden for their livelihood. Equal parts THE WIRE and HARLAN COUNTY, USA.

From the late 1950s through the sixties, wild, idiosyncratic crime movies were the brutal and boisterous business of Nikkatsu, the oldest film studio in Japan. Contains I am Waiting, Rusty Knife, Cruel Gun Story, A Colt is my Passport, and Take Aim at the Police Van.

It's Paris, 1936. Clint Eastwood's longtime cinematographer is onboard, there is a music hall, people burst into song, this doesn't seem depressing enough to be at BPE, does it? Maybe everyone dies in the end. Fingers crossed, but probably just lush scenery and affirmations of loves power. Looks good.
