    Featured Films for October

    Fantastic Planet

The Gran Prix winner at Cannes in 1973, very unavailable in any form, is getting a great release with a short film by the same director. Sci-Fi Animation that is ridiculously original.

    Battleship Potemkin

One of the most studied silent films ever.  2 Disc set. of the Eisenstein film, a staple of film studies and battle scene wise, very 'borrowed' from. This new restoration has dozens of missing shots replaced, and all 146 title cards restored to Eisenstein's specifications. Edmund Meisel's definitive 1926 score is rendered by the 55-piece Deutches Filmorchestra.
